Africa – Facts and Short Guide

๐ŸŒEver thought about travelling to Africa?๐ŸŒ

โ˜€๏ธHere is my short guide to Africa!โ˜€๏ธ

๐Ÿ Africa is home to 54 countries! The smallest country in Africa is the well known honeymoon destination of Seychelles. Seychelles is made up of 115 islands located on the east coast boasting heavenly beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves.

๐ŸœThe largest country in Africa is Algeria which is located in the North. Algeria offers a vast range of landscapes from the famous Sahara Desert to the Atlas mountain range that borders Morocco to golden sand beaches on the Mediterranean Sea! Each region in Algeria has its own cuisine speciality which is the perfect place for a foodie!

๐Ÿ–Africa is well known for its history! Especially in well known Ancient Egypt! You can visit the Pyramids in Giza and even learn how to make papyrus. Egypt is famous for its coastal resorts and quite rightly so as they are magnificent!

๐Ÿ˜South Africa – another of Africas vast landscape countries made up of large grass land which is great for a safari trip to see the famous African elephant. The jagged cliff coastal regions host tropical beaches and well facilitated marina’s which is perfect for a fishing trip or to watch the sun set on a luxury yacht.

๐Ÿ’†๐ŸปMy last African guide goes to Morocco! Morocco is in the North and borders with Algeria. Morocco in recent years has become famous with tourists from Europe catching their winter sun in the coastal regions. Morocco has the longest mountain range in the world – The Atlas Mountain Range. Morocco is famous for its Souks, hammam massages and Argan Oil which makes the best place for someone who loves shopping and pampering.

Taking The Plunge

My name is Yvonne McIntosh and I live in Scotland with my beautiful daughter (almost 1 year old). Three weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and become an Independent Travel Agent so I could take extended leave from my job as a delivery driver, to stay at home with my daughter. I have decided to take another plunge and start a blog about my progress as an Independent Travel Agent and a stay at home mum! My plan with my blog is to post weekly updates about my experience of becoming an Independent Travel Agent and to blog some cool facts about places around the world.

I decided to become an Independent Travel Agent after booking accommodation for Morocco through a friend who is an Independent Travel Agent. I originally thought her quote was going to be expensive and way over my budget. I was pleasantly surprised when she gave me a choice of 5 hotels that were all very good ratings and all under and within my budget. After going on holiday and enjoying the hotel she booked for us. I was curious about her business and my passion for travel made me think that I would be good at planning tours and travel for client’s. After a month of contemplating, I decided to ask her the question… “How do I become an Independent Travel Agent?”

Through my friend’s recommendation I joined a reputable company called Inteletravel. So far I’ve completed intensive training, signed up to multiple suppliers and earned certificates of expertise with them too. It’s been all go! I have given my Independent Travel Agent company a name and a logo. I chose the name Bon Voyage Tours And Travel. I am quarter French and when visiting France for holidays and family visits, my friends and family at home in Scotland would always say “Bon Voyage” before we left. It’s a small personal touch to my brand that makes me feel more connected to my business. I’ve created a Facebook page and I’ve been posting the odd holiday quote and some posts to engage with travelers and potential clients.

The beginning of next week I plan to make some business cards and leaflets so I can hand them out to shops, community areas and most importantly friends and family!

Thanks for reading my short but sweet blog post.
